Nettle is a major plant in phytotherapy, traditionally used for its many medicinal properties. Prehistoric people ate nettles as part of their diet.

Nettle grows from 20 to 200 cm in height and forms colonies with its rhizomes. Nettle is covered with 2 kind of “hairs”-long stinging hairs (trichomes) and small soft hairs. It can be picked with bare hands without getting stung by pinching the stem while moving your fingers upwards. Nettle has been traditionally used – perhaps in grandmother's recipes, for its astringent, cleansing and purifying properties. Nettle has also been found to benefit the skin as well! Nettle root makes an excellent tonic for the scalp.

PROPERTIES OF OUR NETTLES

Why is it so effective for oily hair?

Oily hair is often the result of an overproduction of oil by your sebaceous glands. The problem begins at the scalp.

Nettle rebalances the scalp’s oil production for a natural " blotting effect " without drying or stripping. Cultivated using traditional methods without the use of phytosanitary products to protect the plants ecosystem (home to120 living species); nettle was selected for the abundance of natural sebum-regulating active ingredients found in the roots. This active helps to gradually reduce excess sebum production to help keep oily hair cleaner for longer!
