PROPERTIES OF OUR QUININE

Why is it so effective for your hair?

Red Quinquina was a traditional remedy used by the Incas to treat digestive problems and infections. Quinquina and especially Quinine were the main treatment for malaria for many years. It can be made into a bitter tonic that in low doses stimulates digestion.

Quinine works from the scalp to boost the resistance of the hair strengthening from root to tip. Our quinine range has been dermatologically tested.

    Training of local communities

In the field, Klorane trains communities to guide them towards more sustainable agriculture

Klorane is working with NGOs in Ecuador to encourage families to move away from the intensive cultivation of Quinquina and adopt more sustainable methods of cultivation. The aim of this commitment is twofold: to help protect local biodiversity and to pass on good practices with a positive social and economic impact for the local community. These agroforests are both ecologically sustainable and economically profitable.

    Successful results against deforestation

Concrete actions to fight deforestation in the Amazon

We work with the local communities to ensure the preservation of the forest with a commitment from Klorane Botanical Foundation to set up 6 community nurseries with 15,000 trees comprising of 40 endangered species which will benefit 75 indigenous Kichwa families. Activities to raise awareness are also carried out in local schools to train future generations of farmers in more sustainable practices.
