A mask is an essential step in your skin care routine. It perfectly complements a face routine: it provides a deep treatment to detoxify the skin and lastingly protect it from external aggressors.
Among the many masks available on the market, there are two different types:
- Beauty masks: they give your skin a boost when you need to wake up your complexion quickly, for example before a wedding or important event.
- "Treatments" masks: they can be used all year round and treat your skin in depth. They are used as a base treatment.
Each face mask is designed to address a specific problem. For this reason, there is a variety of effects: some mattify the skin and treat acne, others deeply hydrate dry skin, others give the skin more glow...
Choose a mask that targets your needs according to your skin type. Solid masks (powders and sticks) are better suited to oily skin, while masks in gel or cream form are more suitable for dry skin.
Our purifying mask stick with ORGANIC Water Mint and Clay detoxifies the skin and absorbs the impurities that accumulate in the pores. ORGANIC Water Mint works like an anti-pollution shield with its antioxidant properties while white Clay combats acne and imperfections with anti-bacterial properties. The mask is enriched with Aloe Vera extract and glycerine, two active ingredients that deeply hydrate the skin.
The stick format is a result of Klorane Laboratories’ innovation: the mask is applied directly to the skin without using the fingers, and the colour allows for precise application.
Specifically designed for normal and dry skin, our ORGANIC Cornflower face mask plumps skin and provides deep hydration during sleep. ORGANIC Cornflower extract soothes redness, itching, and hyaluronic acid intensely hydrates your skin. In the morning, your face is visibly regenerated and ready to face the day.
For a mask to work, it should be sufficiently absorbed into your skin to help the ingredients enter your pores. This means that all other ingredients in the mask will also be inside them: that is why the quality of the treatment is extremely important. Look out for the ORGANIC masks containing a maximum of natural-origin ingredients.
These are the best steps for getting the most out of your mask:
Start by thoroughly removing your make-up and clean your skin with your regular face wash.
The application method depends on the type of mask:
- Face sheet mask: place the mask on your face and create an opening for your mouth, eyes, and nose.
- “Powder” mask: apply a small amount of powder to wet fingers and blend it over your face avoiding your eyes and mouth.
- "Cream" mask: apply the mask all over your face (except your eye and mouth area) and leave it to dry for a few minutes resuming your activities.
There’s no need to cover your face in a thick layer because the skin can’t absorb any excess. Just make sure your face is fully covered.
The application time varies depending on the mask: some will act in under one hour, others need a whole night to take effect. The quickest masks generally take half an hour.
Once the time is up, rinse with clean water to remove residue from the mask.
Moisturise your skin after removing the mask and apply your regular serums and treatments.
So that your mask is effective, it needs time to absorb into the skin. Choose your moment to maximise its benefits.
The best time to put on your mask is at night, when your skin is cleansed and it has time to work its magic. You can also leave it on overnight to maximise its efficiency.
Always after a shower or at least a couple of hours before - if you rinse too early you may not reap the benefits of the mask.
A face mask can be done 1-3 times a week depending on your skin’s sensitivity.
